The Author

Ellis Marsh writes quietly, and not often.

A writer of contemplative memoir and spiritual philosophy, Ellis is the founding author of WhiteWings Integration Press.

Ellis grew up in a house of readers and left it for twelve years to see whether the reading had taken. The answer came back slowly, in fragments, in kitchens and on trains, and eventually as a book. That book became On Returning.

The writing that followed — essays, journal pages, long letters to no one — accumulated into what is now a small imprint. Ellis lives and works between a coastal studio and a borrowed desk in the mountains, and publishes a few short things a year.

“I write so I know what I’m doing here. The book is the leftover, not the point.”

The Imprint

A small press for books that don’t hurry.

WhiteWings Integration Press publishes slim, careful books at the intersection of contemplative practice and ordinary life — memoir, philosophy, and the practice journals that grow alongside them.

We publish a handful of titles. We keep them in print. We believe a reader’s time is the most serious thing we can ask for, and that’s the framework the imprint is built on.

One author

Every title comes from a single voice, shaped over years, not quarters. Each book has to earn the shelf space it asks for.

Paper first

We design for the object — sewn signatures, readable measure, paper that holds ink without bleeding. Digital editions follow the book, not the other way around.

No hurry

Titles are released when ready. We do not pre-announce books that may change, and we do not ship a book that needs another season.
